Top 10 Most-Pinned Recipes on Pinterest!

Pinterest - it's so hot right now. Pinterest is driving a ton of traffic to food blogs, and pinning your recipes and engaging in the Pinterest community is a great way to get your recipes noticed. So what are the all-time most-pinned recipes on Pinterest, you ask? We've put together the Feastie list of the top 10 most pinned recipes of all time on Pinterest - and you may be surprised by the results! This list just proves that you don't have to have a huge blog with tons of traffic to have a fantastic, popular recipe - some of the most-pinned recipes come from smaller or up-and-coming food blogs. These recipes all have beautiful photos, but they also have a certain special something. What is it? Take a look at the list below and tell us what you think - what makes a recipe go viral on Pinterest?

#10 with 384,000 pins: No Bake Nutella Cheesecakes from My Baking Addiction

No one can deny the popularity of Nutella, so incorporating it into a delicious no-bake dessert? Brilliant.

#9 with 393,000 pins: Queso Blanco Dip from Pennies on a Platter

Ooey gooey cheese dip - nuff said.

#8 with 397,000 pins: Slow Baked Mac and Cheese from A Whisk and A Prayer

Mac and cheese is a perennial favorite, and the appeal of turning on your slow cooker and coming home to a hot bowl of creamy, decadent mac & cheese is undeniable. And the stringy, stretched-out bits of cheese in the photo certainly don't hurt.

#7 with 404,000 pins: Grain-Free Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites from Texanerin

Peanut butter and chocolate chips - a classic combination. But adding in the cookie dough factor, as well as that melty, oozing chocolate in the photo puts this recipe over the edge. Who wouldn't want to eat that?

#6 with 415,000 pins: Crash Hot Potatoes from Pioneer Woman

The humble potato, taken to a new level - crispy, creamy, salty, and crunchy.

#5 with 440,000 pins: Skinny Taco Dip from Skinnytaste

Taking a favorite "junk food" and making it healthier/less fattening and still taste amazing is a challenge, but Skinnytaste gets it right every time. Delicious favorites with no guilt!

#4 with 489,000 pins: Avocado and Grilled Corn Salad with Cilantro Vinaigrette from Authentic Suburban Gourmet

While rich, decadent desserts and creamy, cheesy casseroles are much-loved, finding a way to make vegetables appealing, beautiful, and delicious is also a challenge. This recipe hits all the right notes - colorful, healthy veggies simply prepared with a beautiful presentation.

#3 with 498,000 pins: Roasted Green Beans with Mushrooms, Balsamic, and Parmesan from Kalyn's Kitchen

Another great take on healthy veggies - and a great alternative to the traditional green bean casserole.

#2 with 524,000 pins: Parmesan Crusted Chicken {Hellman's Mayo Recipe} from The Enchanted Cook

Recipes from food jars and labels are some of the best, most well-tested recipes out there, and this beautiful photo perfectly captures the essence of a simple, delicious meal. And you probably have all of the ingredients in your fridge right now!

#1 with 730,000 pins!!! Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries from The Sweets Life

Beautiful little bite-sized treats - so perfect for a party. Mini versions of decadent favorites are fantastic, as you can indulge in a sweet little bite without the guilt of a huge slice of cheesecake.

So excited that one of my recipes was in the top ten, and I would love to know how you find the total amount of pins for each recipe!

I'm not surprised that these recipes went viral on Pinterest, given the lovely photos that represent them. I am also not surprised that they are relatively simple recipes - Pinterest appeals to many folks who aren't looking for gourmet food - they (we) are thinking about our own lives and which recipes we could make ourselves. I am surprised that so few of the top 10 were baked goods.

How exciting! I'm also shocked that only three are sweets, but I guess that's a good thing. We already get enough sugar in our lives... :)

Like Kalyn, I'm wondering how you figured out these numbers. I'd love to know how!

I can't believe my recipe was one of the number 10 all time most pinned! Thank you for the shout out!!!

You know, I have no idea what makes a pin go viral. Last year, I created a trifle for Halloween, with "Black Velvet" cake. At the time, it did *alright*, but nothing staggering. This year? It's gone nuts! Last count, 43K+ pins! And this has all happened in the last 2 months. I don't know who pinned it that caused it to go viral, but THANKS!

Hi Amber! You know, we had a very similar pattern with our Baked Apple Cider Donut Holes. I think part of it is that Pinterest is a lot bigger now than it was at the same time last year, when the post came out. Also, since recipes come back into season, people start pinning or repinning recipes from last year. I also think people like pushing the season a bit when it comes to recipes -- the Pinterest crowd likes to plan ahead. We noticed that our Donut Holes started picking up again about six weeks ago. I figure it was a long, hot summer and people are looking forward to Fall. Now there's 43k+ looking forward to making your "Black Velvet" cake for Halloween!

I currently have setup a blog to review popular pinned recipes and I have to say I am shocked by the top 10! I am taking your top 10 list and adding them to my list of recipes to review, so it will be interesting to see if they are as good at almost half a million people think. If you get time, I would love you guys to check it out, http://thegoodpins.blogspot.com. Thanks for such a great list and giving me some motivation.
